Since the release of the 2011 Savannah Green Events Guide & Directory, momentum has grown among Savannah-area organizations and businesses for more environmentally-minded practices in planning events. The how-to guide for hosting a green event has streamlined the process while serving as a repository for more eco-friendly sites and vendors.
The inaugural edition was released in November 2010 and highlighted more than 70 vendors across 20 categories. In the new edition, the Guide will be updated to reflect new or expanded opportunities to green local events. Like the first run, Savannah Green Events Guide & Directory will ensure environmental integrity by printing in the most sustainable fashion, locally with soy-based ink on 100% post-consumer recycled paper.
Green Events Guide & Directory partners
Partners on Savannah Green Events Guide & Directory are Tommy Linstroth of Trident Sustainability, Summer Teal Simpson and Cari Clark of Clark Creative Design. Together the team brings a keen awareness of event coordinating, sustainability and local businesses and organizations with an eco-awareness.
Nearly 2000 guides have been distributed since the release of the 2011 Guide in November 2010, including events like monthly GreenDrinks Savannah and cSpot events, the Georgia Organics Conference, Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour, For the Record recycled art event, and Earth Day in Forsyth Park. Additional copies were distributed broadly by the United Way of the Coastal Empire to their numerous partner organizations, by the Savannah Wedding Professionals, and through the advertisers.
For 2012, the Guide & Directory will be disseminated through traditional channels as well as through an expanded online and electronic presence, to include enhanced social media exposure for vendors listed in the directory.
