Organic and Local Catering

How ‘bout them crabcakes?! Everyone knows that delicious food is a key component to a successful event. Thankfully, these days, you can have your (organic) cake and eat it too.

The Creative Coast features a number of catering companies that focus on, or specialize in, producing delicious dinners, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts using locally sourced and organic food-stocks. Organic food gives you peace of mind that your produce, meats, etc. do not contain chemicals that are harmful to you or Mother Nature.

Organic and Local Libations

What is in your cup is just as important as what is on your plate. Much like organic and local food, serving local or organic libations reduces the eco-impact of your cocktails.

From wine to beer to vodka, there are options in Savannah that are either local or organic and we can personally vouch for the quality of these libations.

Wine
Georgia’s wine selection is no longer limited to sweet Muscadine wine. Our great state produces top-notch wines that regularly medal against some of the best competition in the country. Whether you are looking for Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, sparkling wine, Chardonnay, or Viognier, you have fantastic options grown right here. The following wineries produce top-quality wines that will hold up at your event, be it black tie affair or oyster roast.

Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Use the largest serving container possible for non-alcoholic drinks. Opt for the five-gallon water cooler over individual bottles of water. Use two-liter bottles of soda versus individual cans. If possible, set up soda guns. And make sure you are pouring into real glasswear, a nice touch with much less waste. (See page 29 for more information.)

And after dessert… the coffee. Provide organic, fair trade, or shade grown coffee to minimize the environmental footprint of your cup of joe. And locally roasted beans make for a smooth, tasty cup of coffee that rivals that of beans roasted in Seattle.
